This handbook gives clear, practical advice on how to facilitate environmental quality. It demonstrates, by example, that high quality, sustainable development is achievable. It shows how environmental issues apply at all stages of regeneration, from early collaboration with interested parties, through planning and design to construction and energy management. It shows how care over environmental impact can produce an area which offers a higher quality of life, attracts lasting investment, protects nature - and makes good business sense. Development agencies of all kinds, particularly the Regional Development Agencies, planners, architects, developers and those involved in business should find this handbook useful. Published April 1999. |
