Previously served as non-executive director of Rentokil Initial PLC and United Biscuits PLC and as President of the Council of Building Materials and as Chairman of the CBI Transport Policy Committee.

John Walker

Position: Chief Executive

Specialist areas: Finance, National Coalfields Programme, Priority Sites Ltd, English Cities Fund Ltd, Land Restoration Trust. All English Partnerships programmes.

Previous Experience: Specialised in regeneration and property development with Stoy Hayward Consulting. Senior appointments with Teesside Development Corporation, Northumbria Police and various local authorities in the North-East.

Duncan Innes

Position: Director of Strategic Land

Appointed: 1997

Specialist areas: Surplus Public Sector Land, Local Housing Companies (LHCs) and First Time Buyers' Initiative.

Previous Experience: From 1997 to 2008 Duncan was Regional Director for London and the Thames Gateway at English Partnerships. Previously worked for the London Docklands Development Corporation and the London Borough of Bromley. Eight years at a senior level, Countryside Properties, working on major development and regeneration projects.

David Edwards

Previous Experience: Previously combined the roles of Head of Regeneration, Land and Property and Chief Estates Officer at Communities and Local Government. David is a chartered surveyor, planner and economist and was a Director of Arup, the international design and development consultancy.

David Hughes

Position: Regional Director for the North East, Yorkshire and East Midlands

Appointed: 2004

Specialist areas: All projects in the North East, Yorkshire and East Midlands

Previous Experience: Qualified Town Planner. Delivered major initiatives with Nottingham City Challenge and New Deal for Communities. Also worked for Nottingham Regeneration Ltd initiating masterplan led regeneration schemes and undertaking the direct development of a range of inner city workspace schemes.

Stephen Oakes

Previous Experience: Chartered Surveyor and qualified Structural Engineer, with over 25 years’ experience in land and property. Previously English Partnerships' Area Director for London and Thames Gateway. In 2005 Project Director for the £1bn London-Wide Initiative. Director of Barking Riverside Limited and an advisor for the CLG’s Decent Homes Programme.

Trevor Beattie

Jane Forshaw

Position: Head of Environmental Policy

Previous Experience: From 2005 until 2007 Jane was Chief Executive of CL:AIRE (Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments). Previously worked as Chief Executive of Urban Mines for over four years, and was Head of the Sustainability Team at Birmingham City Council. Qualifications include Environmental Sciences, Waste Management, Excellence in Communication and Leadership.
